They are mailing me today the latest bios updates to see if that changes my situation. Magix said Asio is preferable also I should get a soundcard, preferably not Creative Labs because lots of Magix users had had problems with them? As I have Steinberg Wavelab 7, it came with the Zoom H2 USB mic I bought 2 weeks ago, that also gives no problems recording or exporting with my 15 year old Microsoft also the quality of sound I find superior so today I decided to get a 30 day trial of Steinberg Sequel 3 to try although in it's reviews they say it doesn't have functions like volume fade in & out, something I'm used to.īy the way I also contacted ASRock who are very helpful, the guy uses MagixMusicMaker & said it works fine with both onboard as you or Creative Labs cards.
I should say I have also Music Maker 15 which works, although I never used the Asio option drivers, always Wave. All other 4 options say NO device connected. Your other screenshots- My Sound prefs is similar to yours except I use a 5 channel sound system not PC speakers so my default is that. Also I found if I use both mic's with any other s/w then import to my Magix arrangement the sound is as it should be but that defeats the object. You say the Recording dialogue red button is inactive, what's the point of it then? I thought it was to stop recording! I also use Magix Movie Edit Pro 17, when I use the old mic with it it works fine volume wise. So I see a wave moving up & down in the window far left for my voice using wave but nothing using Asio.
I have options to record using USB Mic driver only with a ZOOM H2 USB mic or as your Screenshot, Asio etc using my old Microsoft mic plugged in to PINK not RED (I tried the red input then got no sound with any option!), mic input on PC then export as Asio or Wave etc,as your screen shot of record dialogue is same as mine, but with Asio I get no sound when recording at all, with Wave 50%. Adobe, SoundForge, Sony, Wavelab 7 etc etc, this version of Magix is the only 1 with such problems.
